How to get a House Sit | Communicating with the Home Owners
The Home Owner needs to know what is going on with the pets during the house sit
I don’t care how well you prepare the home owners, they are still going to miss and worry about their pets while they are gone. At first, we would email them telling them all was well, but we came up with a much better idea. But let me give you another one of our House Sitting Tips! This is How To Get a House Sit! In case you haven’t figured it out yet, we use Trusted House Sitters to get most of our House Sits.
Just about everyone is on Face Book
I like to ask the home owner before they leave if they are on Face Book. Then we exchange information and become “friends”. I have found that most of the time, they are still on Face Book everyday even during their holiday! And why you ask? They are posting pictures of themselves and sharing what a great time they are having! Well we want to post some pictures too. Pictures of their “babies”. Sometimes, this is the way we communicate also as they will message us on Face Book too

So, I post pictures of their animals so they can see them
Not just any pictures of their animals but pictures of you fulfilling your duties as a house sitter. Such as taking them for their walks and just bonding with them. Here is Terry walking Daisy Mae and Evie. This shows the home owners that you are indeed walking the dogs like you are supposed to be walking them.
And of course special “bonding moments” with the animals!
Yes, hopefully you can capture pictures of yourselves having some special time with the animals. Did I mention that you might fall in love with a few dogs and cats along the way? They are all so sweet but sometimes you just “click” with them. Here I am with Henry and Dave. What home owner is not going to love seeing their dogs getting loved.

By the way, the pictures are not just “acting”
We want to show what we are actually doing with the dogs. The truth comes out when the home owners get home and see how their dogs act around us! Just some House Sitting Tips for you.
